What Is Pressure Therapy?
Fun fact: weighted blankets actually originate from psychiatry clinics. Pressure therapy is used to calm neurological arousal, and stimulate the release of serotonin and dopamine to evoke a calming response.
Serotonin and dopamine are neurotransmitters that stimulate the same brain activity as a human-to-human hug, which is one of the many benefits people experience through the use of a weighted blanket.
Why Bamboo?
At Ecosa, we love bamboo – in case you couldn’t tell! We favour bamboo over cotton for its eco-friendly, low energy intensity manufacturing, and buttery-soft, hypoallergenic properties. While some weighted blankets are made from fluffier synthetic materials like polyester, these fabrics when combined with the weight of the blanket can leave you feeling very hot and flustered. Our bamboo weighted blanket is designed to assist with temperature regulation throughout the night, helping your body temperature adjust to all-season weather without compromising on the relaxing benefits of pressure therapy.
What Sizes and Weights Are Available?
It’s recommended to use a weighted blanket that’s approximately 10-15% of your body weight to maximise the benefits of pressure therapy.

What Sizes Are Available?
We created the Ecosa Weighted Blanket in single size only. Why? Because having one blanket per person delivers optimal weight distribution, therefore maximising the neurological response to pressure therapy. Plus, if you choose to put a duvet cover over your weighted blanket, a classic single size is easy to find from your favourite bedding providers. Of course, we’d love you to pair it with our signature bamboo bedding, but with an easy-to-fit single size weighted blanket, the choice is yours.
